Digital Design Program
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment in the Digital Design industry as Information Technology Assistants, Production Assistants, Digital Assistant Designers, Graphic Designers, and Multimedia Designers.​This program offers a sequence of courses that provides skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Arts, A/V Technology and Communication career cluster. The content includes, but is not limited to, enhanced practical experiences in computer-generated art and text, graphic design, graphic production, digital design skills, preparation of digital layouts and illustrations, scanning, and the development of specialized multimedia presentations.

Digital Design 1 - Honors

Course Description: This course is designed to develop the entry-level skills required for careers in digital design. The content includes computer skills; digital publishing concepts and operations; layout, design, and measurement activities; digital imaging; communication, collaboration and decision-making activities; critical thinking and problem-solving.

Industry Certification - The Adobe Photoshop Certification and the Adobe Illustrator Certification will be given when the teacher feels the student is ready. A passing grade of 70% or more on the exam will result in a summative grade of 100%, worth 200pts. A failing grade of 69% or less will be inputed as the actual grade achieved and the student will be allowed to retake the test 21 days later. Students may retake the test 2 times. A passing grade on both Certifications gives the student an academic acceleration point and can in some cases be used for college credit (check with the specific school).
Digital Design 2 - Honors
Course Description: This course includes computer skills; digital publishing operations; layout, design, and measurement activities; decision-making activities; digital imaging & work-based learning experiences. This course covers competencies in advanced design, layout, color modes, and fonts
Digital Design 3 & 4 Honors
Course Description: The students will complete various activities using various programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. They will demonstrate advanced proficiency in computer skills, digital publishing operations, layout, design, and measurement activities; decision-making activities; and digital imaging. All graphic design activities will go into a digital portfolio. Each person will present their body of work to the class and explain what they learned in the course.

Christy Transier, CJE
This is Ms. Transier' s forth year teaching Digital Media and serving as the Yearbook Advisor at Seabreeze High School. She comes to teaching with 20 years of experience as a Graphic Designer and Photographer. Prior to joining the faculty she ran a prominent Photography business and was the Artistic Director of the Key West Art Guide. Recently, she received the prestigious designation of Certified Journalism Educator (CJE) from the Journalism Education Association.
